Mapping Women’s Studies

A Historical Mapping of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Around the Globe

Speaker: Clara Montague

Monday, March 7, 2022, from 3: 45 pm to 4:30 pm EST on Zoom. Meeting ID: 757 446 5504

This event is part of our Women’s History Month celebrations and helps us mark International Women’s Day!

Clara Montague is a doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland finishing a dissertation on the transnational history of women’s studies. As part of her research, she has created a digital map of women’s studies programs around the globe with a timeline of when these programs and departments were started, and she has studied cross-national curricular collaborations.

During her talk, she will introduce the digital map she created and share the surprises she encountered when digging into the histories of the first women’s studies departments and programs on other continents.
